Religion of Peace militants kill five foreigners, take hostages

another article relates:
One of the gunmen who opened fire Saturday in separate attacks on three compounds housing oil companies in the eastern Saudi Arabian city of Khobar poked a gun at the face of one of the Filipino victims and asked if he was a Muslim or Christian. It was not known what the man answered, but he was shot in the face, witnesses said...

meanwhile, in doha, someone tells an interreligious conference the usual line that Islam is a Religion of Peace and that Muslims Say Koran Bans Taking of Innocent Life.

gee, i guess those militants weren't reading the qur'an properly, otherwise, they would've been throwing welcome parties to kafirs working in their most holy land, and shooting kisses at some poor worker's face instead.

the "rotten tomatoes" excuse begins to crumble especially when one considers that these people are precisely the ones carrying out the "divine" injunctions of the qur'an regarding infidels, and not just some extreme nutty fringe group. they enjoy massive support from ordinary people who consider them holy warriors defending islam from defenseless kafir workers who simply wanted to earn a living for his family in the oil rich state. they'll soon have their heroics proudly promoted in vcd's sold in malaysian & indonesian sidewalks along with bin laden t-shirts, posters, and bumber stickers.

islam and the ummah therefore have difficult fundamental issues to confront here, but these issues will not solve themselves when islamic leaders frequently deny the connection of islam to terrorism and play the blame game to blame the rest of the world for the ills their own people commit in the name of islam, or when they appeal to the oft-abused and tiring sense of victimhood. these old men should grow up.
