The Passion in the Middle East

the passion of the christ has been shown in several islamic/arab countries, which include qatar, iran, eqypt, and the uae. this happened despite the fact that it is forbidden in islamic tradition to portray prophets in art, especially when it portrays the prophet in a way that differs from the islamic view. for muslims, jesus was just a great prophet who never claimed to be the son of god; he was never crucified but rahter was rescued by god and an impostor was crucified in his stead. however, it seems only malaysia and saudi arabia remain in upholding that tradition, even though pirated copies of the film have been selling briskly at those countries' black markets. to what then would one attribute the success of the film? it seems these countries allowed the film mainly because of several jewish group's opposition to the film. "many Arabs were interested in seeing the film only because of the anti-Semitic controversy surrounding it" one report said. one could argue that these guys went to see the film hoping to find new dirt on the jews but came out discovering something else. "This film is generating huge interest in Jesus and the Bible," the report added.

hhmmm... could this perhaps be another american conspiracy hatched with the help of the zionist jews in order that such a film subvert islam right under the muslims' very noses? could gibson have asked the jews to make so much negative publicity about the film that their enemies would find it delectable for their own prejudices, and that resistance against it be minimized? gibson's a genius! hhmmm....
