New senators proclaimed

i'm happy that the senate will be having fresh new faces on the floor. mar roxas, dick gordon, pia cayetano, bong revilla, alfredo lim and yes, even (sigh) even jamby madrigal and lito lapid, ought to be, and hopefully we pray, injecting renewed vitally into the senate. perhaps, this batch will be able to restore some sembleance of credibilty to the senate as well, seeing that they've bumped off some of the troublemakers seeking reelection, and maybe even neutralize the acidity of the ones left there. i also expect much from roxas and gordon in particular. their experience in the cabinet, as well as their proven work ethic, would be invaluable.

i'm also happy that many of what i perceive to be trouble makers, failed to get in, especially carlos padilla (whew!), ernesto maceda and john osmena. these guys thrive in controversy and media attention, which really doesn't help the country at all but does so much for their PR efforts.

but my excitement is tempered by the fact the there will be two estradas in the senate, and that once again we'll be dealing with miriam and enrile soon... who knows what and where they'll take their new term as senators.

considering mar roxas' performance at this election, i'm pretty sure he'll be the next president. hhhmmm... do you find any emerging pattern here? would we then expect that the next president after him be, perhaps, kris aquino?
