Mr. Speaker!

the debates regarding the canvassing of the certificates of canvass continue as per publication. on ANC, we see cong. dilangalen interpolating sen. pangilinan and cong. nachura, and then ANC quits for an interview with a former member of the 1986 constitutional commission. he actually agrees with the current practice where a committee composed of members from both houses of congress. it would take months for the entire congress, lower and upper houses, to scrutinize all the coc's.

anyway, although i find the opposition's strategy of questioning the manner by which the the coc's are authenticated and appreciated, a rule which has already been practiced in prior elections, annoying and debilitating. i mean, there has already been a precedence on the exercise of the rules on the appreciation of the coc's. why question them now?

however, i appreciate that democracy, filipino style, is working. yes, the opposition's rantings and questioning of every detail of the election maybe prolonging the election process, but nevertheless, the system works. the minority is still heard, despite their small number. nobody's rights are being denied. yes, they are annoying, but that's how it is in a democracy. we better learn to live with it and be happy with it.
