my bestfriend and almost a mother to me, Ms. Larne Gayatgay...was TERMINATED in Don Bosco Makati...
as much as i don't want to tell to you guys but i think it's also your concern and your right to know.
after 15 years of outstanding service...she's out now...
mam larne is happy tho....it seems that she look at it as a blessing in disguise... kilala nyo naman si mam...sobrang bait...
this is the story (based on what i understand from mam last April 29, 2004, 12nn): it was later february...there were 2 students (lets name them student B1 and B2) in the office (i don't know where). One of them steel money woth P3000.00 from the office. It was a hint of
Larne that one of them got the money. So, she asked them both and no one admitted. Till one time mam larne found out that B1 stole the money. She went to talk the student one on one. The student denied it again. Mam larne asked for the parent of B1 to come to school for that issue. Several days went by before mam was able to talk to B1's parent. The student now claimed that he stole the money and returned it. So, they talked and had a conversation between the parent and the child. Mam larne understood the situation why this student made such wrong move. B1 is known in db as one of the high-ranking students and consistent conduct awardee that shows that he is really a good student. It was just that during that time he really needs to pay a project for him to pass a requirement in school on time and other very personal reason. mam larne asked help and advise from some guidance councilors and the spiritual moderator. She's asking for spiritual advise to help her rebuild the child as a person.
The student was traumatized and very sorry for what he did and still in pain during that time. Mam larne did not tell Mr. Racaza (the principal) and the authority about that because she's very concern with the child. She know that it would be a disaster and it would destroy the life of the child if the case will be escalleted to the
authority. She said, "I prayed and asked God any sign what to do with the student. I had a resolution that...if B1 will be the validictorian and would recv a conduct award this graduation, i
will be the one who will hold the award and relate to deliberation committee about the case. But lucky enough for the student because B1 was not able to get the awards and was just an honor student without a conduct award.". The deliberation was conducted a week before the graduation day.(as of this part...i really don't know the exact thing. I'll just say my understanding) B2 related to his mom what happened to B1. The mom of B2 reacted and that reached to a group of parents (PTA....yata?). One day, a teacher or guidance councilor told mam larne, "Ms. Larne, be ready! A group of parents wants to talk to you in the Principal's office!". Mam Larne found out that it is about the case of B1. They acused mam larne of kind'a tolerating the student and concealed the case to the people. The rector of the school (who is just new to dbti makati-first year nya last school year..)...got mad because he is not aware of what is happening. The rector got mad also to the principal. So there was a meeting of higher authority of what they will do. The body decided to terminate Mam Larne for the reason that she concealed (daw?!!!) the case. The spiritual moderator and other people who knew the
case washed their hands as Pontius PilateS of new ages....saying that "I would like to clear my name here. I have nothing to do with that.". After the meeting, the principal approached mam larne and agev the sanction paper. After reading the papers (knowing that she's being terminated!), mam larne said with a melow voice, "Thank you...". April 27,2004, 11pm, Mam larne txted me. "Einnar, i'm inviting you to attend the mass at noon time tomorrow." I asked mam, "Why?...what's up?"..She replied, "You'll know..." I'm so excited to see her. It's been 6 months since i last see her. kc before almost every month im there sa school. I also thought that maybe larne will be married that day...hehehe...Till i found out that she invited me together with the other alumni to attend mass with her..(a mass offered to mam larne to be emotionally strong).
I also found out that the rector didn't even had mam larne a chance to hear her side. Mam larne wrote a letter to the rector with full details of what happened. This leter was NEGLECTED as if it's nothing. Hanggang ngayon, di pa rin sya kinakausap ng rector natin. Is that fair?!!! I don't think so...
So, this past few days i've been sleeping late to go to busko together with the other alumni who is there to support her. We've been packing her things up for next week will be her last week.
The reason why i emailed this story is for you to at least know what happened to our beloved teacher back in HS. She's been great and helpful.
If in case you drop by dbti and look for her within this week to talk to her, just don't show her that you're sad for her. Instead, what she needs to see from us, is that we are happy. She wants you to look it on a brighter and positive side.
